It was competition time today with our annual Pumpkin Carving Contest seeing strong entries from across the business. Organised by Beverley, a specialist SMT Operator, the competition sought hidden sculptors across Blue Chip Technology to carve the most impressive pumpkin imaginable. By the look of the entries, we do seem to have a few Michelangelo’s in our ranks!
The voting process was watched closely by the ‘artists’, each one with their eyes one the prize. For the rest of us, the big bucket of sweets next to the ballot box was all the encouragement we needed to cast a vote. At 2:00pm, the votes were counted. Shortly after, a recount was called and the rising tension was palpable. The count was correct, though, and the winner was clear.
I’m now pleased to share with you that the winner of Most Impressive Pumpkin 2017 was Roy, our Mechanical Design Engineer, with his fusion of Batman’s villain, Two-Face, and Tim Burton’s Jack Skellington character (see photo below). Congratulations, Roy!
