COM Express is a PICMG standard Computer On Module (COM) which endeavours to be everything to everybody. To achieve this it has evolved into four different form factors (Mini, Compact, Basic and Extended) which cover three classes of use:
- Server
- Performance
- Low Power
There are several “Types” which specify the pin out of each COM. Currently they include:
- Type 2
- Type 6
- Type 7
- Type 10
